Bedford Schools are accepting children for their Preschool Program

Bedford School District is seeking peer models for its preschool program.  Peer models should demonstrate average to above-average communication and behavior skills to serve as role models to others. Families who meet income eligibility guidelines may have tuition reduced by up to 50%. Transportation is not provided, and families would need to commit to timely pickup and drop off. There are currently openings in the morning session (8:45-11:30 a.m.) and afternoon session (12:45-3:30 p.m.) Monday through Thursday. The preschool classes are all housed in Glendale Primary School. Applications can be picked up at Glendale or at the Bedford Board of Education’s Administration Center. After applications are received, a preschool team member will contact families to schedule a brief screening and to discuss the registration process for those who qualify. Eligible preschoolers must be three years old on or before August 1st of the current school year.

The district’s preschool program received a Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) 5-star rating from the Ohio Department of Education, which is the highest rating possible. The high rating is largely based on the district’s provision of evidence-based instructional strategies within a language-enriched environment to assist every child in meeting his or her unique learning needs. High-quality early learning experiences provide the basis for the brain’s development and directly impact the success of children in kindergarten and beyond. For more information, please call Glendale at 440-439-4227.

Note from Heather: My own children attended this preschool and it is an excellent pre-school. Special needs children are also accepted (and highly encouraged) into this program. If your child is special needs, they are eligible to attend the preschool for free through the Headstart program.
